O B J E C T I V E S

Directed at achieving its principal goal of ensuring a more humane and efficient reinsertion process, the REUNION Project proposes to achieve the following specific objectives

Establish the preliminary work for adequately supporting judges, prosecutors, lawyers and prison staff when working with cross-border execution of judgements involving liberty-depriving and custodial measures, more specifically, when dealing with Framework Decision 2008/909, and with this instrument in reference with Framework Decision 2008/947 and Framework Decision 2009/829 

2 ‣
Create a space that contributes to the closer interaction and cooperation between practitioners, thereby promoting mutual trust and collaborative solutions on how to best implement the aforementioned Framework Decisions

3 ‣
Support a higher degree of harmonisation between legal and judicial cultures

4 ‣
Support the rehabilitation and respect for the rights of foreign inmates while simultaneously reiterating the relevance of judicial cooperation instruments in this respect.
